Generative AI is capable of producing photorealistic images, replicating human voices, writing various types of texts, and creating videos. For
example, Midjourney creates images from text descriptions and has been used to generate viral images such as the one of the Pope in a
puer jacket. !
Generative AI raises important ethical questions regarding artistic ownership, copyright, and misinformation. The creation of fake images, such
as those of Trump being arrested, can be used to spread false news and influence public opinion. The ability to replicate human voices can
lead to job losses for voice actors and the creation of fraudulent audio content. Misha Zelinsky, in his article "Deepfakes might be dictators’
most powerful weapon yet," emphasizes how deepfakes could be used to manipulate public opinion and threaten democracy. Tools like Glaze
have been developed to protect artistic works from unauthorized use by AI. There are serious ethical concerns around artistic ownership and
copyright, with evidence that some AI programs have been trained on millions of online images without permission or payment, leading to
class action lawsuits.

The Role of Imagination in AI

24/01/2018 Sundar Pichai, CEO at Alphabet Inc and Google.,
explains the important role he sees artificial intelligence
playing for humanity. He made the comments on the sidelines
of the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos,
Switzerland.
Sundar Pichai, states that artificial intelligence is one of the
most important things humanity is working on, even more so
than fire or electricity. Artificial intelligence involves both
positive and negative consequences. For example, facial
recognition can help find missing people, but also be used
for mass surveillance.
Democratic countries need to approach artificial intelligence
in a way that serves society, ensuring that it is not biased,
that it is safe, and that there is a human authority. About 18
months ago, Google published a set of principles for the
development of artificial intelligence. The European
Commission has identified artificial intelligence and
sustainability as top priorities; the United States and the
OECD/G20 are also discussing it. A common framework is
needed to address artificial intelligence. Sundar Pichai is
encouraged by the commonality of the frameworks being
developed, as they are rooted in common human values.
However, greater specificity and evolution are needed. The
European Commission is working on a white paper on
artificial intelligence, and everyone needs to be involved in
the process. Artificial intelligence is like climate change, in
that security cannot be achieved by just one country working
on it; a global framework is needed.

Sundar Pichai on AI's Impact

"I have said it
before, AI is one of
the most profound
things we are
working on as
humanity. It is more
profound than fire
or electricity, or any
of the other big
thing we have ORLD
worked on." ONOMIC

Technology will soon improve
project selection and
prioritization, monitor progress,
speed up reporting, and facilitate
testing.
Project managers, aided by virtual
project assistants, will find their
roles more focused on coaching
and stakeholder management than
on administration and manua

demonstrations of technology that
struck me as revolutionary. The first
time was in 1980, when I was

If generative Al delivers on its promised capabilities, the labor market could face significant disruption. Using
data on occupational tasks in both the US and Europe, we find that roughly two-thirds of current jobs are
exposed to some degree of Al automation, and that generative Al could substitute up to one-fourth of current
work. Extrapolating our estimates globally suggests that generative Al could expose the equivalent of 300mn
full-time jobs to automation.CNBC

According to inside sources, OpenAI researchers have raised concerns with the board about an AI
breakthrough called Q .* The breakthrough, capable of solving complex mathematical problems, was
deemed a potential threat to humanity. The researchers' letter, along with other complaints, contributed to
the temporary firing of CEO Sam Altman. Altman was seen as advocating the rush to commercialize AI
before he fully understood the implications. However, the threat of mass employee resignations led to his
triumphant return. Q's focus is on developing artificial general intelligence (AGI) that can surpass human
capabilities in economically valuable tasks.
